Volunteering for Live Thankfully

Our Decatur Branch volunteered with Live Thankfully of Wise County on Sunday, December 10th. The organization, with the help of the local school districts, sponsors, and local citizens, had been collecting non-perishable food items since September.

Our group brought additional donations of canned meats, fruits and vegetables. They then worked a couple hours to separate, sort, and unbox all of the donated food items to be handed out. Branch Manager Dawson Holt shared, “I have never seen so many cans of green beans in my life!”

Dawson expanded, “Our team got the chance to work side by side with some of the local youth, and it was refreshing to see high school students giving back to their community. Everybody had a great experience. It was a nice change for us to work together on something not Bobcat related.”
