2025 Performance & Specs of the Bobcat T66 Compact Track Loader

Spend enough time in a machine, and it starts to feel like a second home. That’s why comfort, power, and reliability matter—you need something you can count on for eight to ten hours a day. At Bobcat of North Texas, we think that’s the Bobcat® T66 compact track loader. And a lot of our customers think so, too.

So, what’s it really like to run the Bobcat T66 all day? Let’s get into it.

What Do Our Customers Like About the T66?

We talked to a couple of our customers that know the Bobcat T66 inside and out, and their insight was too good not to share with you. Here’s what real Bobcat of North Texas customers had to say about this compact track loader.

1. Efficiency
A lot of our customers talk about the T66 like it’s the Goldilocks of compact track loaders. It’s not as big as the T76 or T86, but it’s got way more power and capacity than the smaller models. You’ll notice faster cycle times—that’s thanks to Bobcat matching the hydraulic pumps to the loader’s cylinder size and lift capacity (and a few upgrades in the T66’s drive response didn’t hurt either).

Toss in better fuel consumption and a 28.3-gallon tank, and it’s tough to find a more efficient track loader.

2. Multiple Track Options
The right tracks make all the difference. Wide tracks help you float across softer dirt. Narrow tracks give you more ground pressure, which is great for packing in dirt or working on rougher job sites. Both are available in Bobcat’s leading C-pattern track option. Here’s a resource that can help you find the best tracks for your job site.

3. Comfort
So, let’s say you’re a foreman for a large company and you spend 1,500 hours a year in the machine. Or maybe you run a crew and operate for a couple hundred hours per year. Either way, when you’re in the cab that much, comfort isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity.

The T66’s suspension seat cuts down on bouncing, and cab heat and air make a big difference in extreme weather. Plus, with the T66, you can choose to add options like a backup camera, a Bluetooth speaker system, and a radio. That’s why this machine is a go-to for almost everyone we talk to.

4. Flexibility
On any given day, T66 loaders cut sub-grade, finish concrete, plant trees, clean streets, and move materials. That means that an operator is constantly swapping between attachments like the tree spade, stump grinder, auger, hydraulic breaker, sweeper, mower, and bucket. With the Power Bob-Tach™ system, switching attachments is fast and painless.

Power & Performance
The T66 runs a turbocharged 74 HP engine that keeps steady power, even under a full load. If you run multiple hydraulic functions at once, you won’t feel the machine bog down. And, it holds up well in tough conditions where other machines might struggle.

Stability & Maneuverability
At 8,840 pounds, the T66 is built to stay put when lifting heavy materials, but it still moves well in tight spaces, too. It’s got a tight turning radius, so you won’t waste time repositioning on the job site. On soft ground, 5.9 psi ground pressure (or 4.8 psi with wider tracks) keeps it from sinking or tearing up finished surfaces.

Lifting & Hydraulics
The T66 is rated to lift 2,450 pounds, and it will feel stable even when it’s fully loaded because of the vertical lift arms. That makes this a good choice if you’re dumping material into a dump truck or trailer. Plus, with 17.6 GPM standard hydraulic flow and an optional 26.9 GPM high-flow system, it runs hydraulic attachments without power loss.

Attachments & Versatility
With a T66, you can tackle grading, digging, tree work, and cleanup. It easily pairs with a wide range of attachments. The quick-change Bob-Tach system makes switching tools fast and simple, and the Power Bob-Tach upgrade takes it a step further by allowing you to change attachments from inside the cab.

Comfortable Controls
Spending all day in a machine means that comfortable controls aren’t optional. The T66 comes with a suspension seat to cut down on bouncing, and the ergonomic hand and foot controls make long shifts easier on operators. Or, if you prefer joysticks, the Selectable Joystick Control (SJC) system gives you more precision and smoother operation. Either way, you can change between ISO or H-Pattern at the flip of a switch. No matter who you are, these controls are comfortable.

Tracks & Ride Quality
The T66 comes with C-pattern tracks so that you can match the machine to your terrain. Standard tracks are 12.6 inches wide, and an optional 15.7-inch wide track option helps with flotation on soft ground.
