Bobcat B760 Backhoe Loader Features

Dig, Load & Carry Versatility

Dig, Load & Carry Versatility

Carry and load in front. Dig in back. Bobcat backhoe loaders can pull double duty on a wide range of tough jobs. The backhoe's versatility is further enhanced with optional attachments such as fold-over forks.

More Digging Depth

More Digging Depth

Designed with legendary Bobcat performance and versatility, the B760 backhoe loader offers the most digging depth in its size class. When you need extra reach on command, the standard-equipped extendable arm delivers 6 to 8 inches more dig depth than other machines of the same size.

High Loader Lift Height, Reach and Lift Capacity

High Loader Lift Height, Reach and Lift Capacity

With 11.3 feet of height to hinge pin and 3.95 feet of reach at full height, operators have ample performance at their fingertips when loading trucks or placing material in hard-to-reach areas. With the standard general purpose bucket, the B760 has a loader rated operating capacity of 7,985 pounds.

Powerful, Efficient Bobcat Engine

Powerful, Efficient Bobcat Engine

The 96 horsepower, 3.4-liter turbo-charged Bobcat engine delivers powerful, high-torque performance and excellent efficiency. It achieves emissions compliance without the use of a diesel particulate filter (DPF). With fewer components, it’s easy to maintain and there's no downtime for DPF regeneration.

Wide Working Range

Wide Working Range

Find your backhoe working position and get the job done. Nearly 180 degrees of swing, 22 feet of reach (from swing center), 2,204 pounds of lift capacity at full reach and a maximum digging depth of 18.4 feet provide the performance and working range you need for less repositioning and fast cycle times.

Effective Maneuverability

Effective Maneuverability

The Bobcat backhoe loader is big enough for heavy-duty work yet can navigate smaller jobsites and jobsite obstacles.

High Travel Speeds

High Travel Speeds

You can drive down the road at an impressive speed of 22.6 mph with the Bobcat B760, enabling you to quickly move across large jobsites or to entirely different jobsites without having to always use a trailer.

Ride Control

Ride Control

With the standard ride control engaged, you’ll have the best possible comfort while driving on roads or traversing rough terrain on the jobsite. The ride control absorbs shocks in the loader arms, optimizing your travel speed, reducing bucket spillage and extending component life.

Backhoe Swing Lock

Backhoe Swing Lock

The one-piece backhoe swing lock keeps the backhoe secure when driving down the road, across the jobsite or while not in use.

Frequently Asked Questions

A backhoe loader – also called a loader backhoe, tractor loader backhoe, excavator loader or tractor excavator – is a versatile piece of construction equipment that combines several functions in one machine.

  • It can load and carry with its front loader
  • It can dig holes and trenches with its rear backhoe

The front of a backhoe loader features large loader arms and bucket mounted on the front. The front loader is most often used for bucket work (scooping and lifting dirt, gravel, debris and other jobsite materials). With backhoe attachments, you can take on other tasks, such as moving materials with a pallet fork attachment or dozing with a combo bucket.

In the back is the digging part of the machine, or the backhoe. It has a long arm with a bucket at the end. The backhoe is commonly used for digging trenches, holes or foundations. Backhoes can also swap attachments – so buckets can be matched to specific digging needs or to complete other tasks on the jobsite

Backhoe loaders are popular on construction sites because of their digging and lifting versatility. They also have relatively high travel speeds – so they can move quickly down the road with less need for trailering.

The profiles of each machine are the most visible difference between a backhoe loader and a compact wheel loader. A compact wheel loader lifts, carries and runs attachments in the front. Backhoe loaders have the familiar boom, arm and bucket at the rear of the machine.

A backhoe loader provides great digging performance where a compact wheel loader is optimized for fast material handling. Other differences are not so clear. While backhoe loaders and compact wheel loaders can both take on material handling tasks, there are some notable differences between each machine:

  • Though they are quite maneuverable, backhoe loaders are generally wider, higher and longer than compact wheel loaders.
  • Extra size increases machine weight, rated operating capacity, lift capacity and bucket capacity.
  • Backhoe loaders have more horsepower than compact wheel loaders.

The ability to pull double duty is the major difference between a backhoe loader and a compact excavator. Backhoe loaders have a front loader that gives you material handling capability. Backhoe loaders have a backhoe function that provides digging ability. Compact excavators are optimized for fast, flexible digging. Other differences between backhoe loaders and compact excavators include:

  • A backhoe loader has about 180 degrees of swing
  • A compact excavator has the ability to swing the work group and the “house” can rotate 360 degrees
  • Compact excavators have more working range and require less repositioning when digging
  • Compact excavators typically have more weight, reach and lift capacity for their size

Bobcat backhoe loaders are available exclusively from Bobcat dealers, who provide you with equipment sales, service and support that keep your productivity at its peak.
